Teaching Philosophy

I believe the measure of good teaching lies not only in the progress students make, but in what they carry with them beyond the studio. My teaching combines a deep respect for musical tradition and artistic excellence with the belief that discipline and compassion must go hand in hand. I help students listen critically, recognize quality, and develop their own artistic voice, while building the confidence and independence to guide their own progress.
